Car and photography in Modena from 1909 to 1950. When in 1909 some cars hurtled along the Via Nonantantolana setting the world record for the mile, the surrounding landscape was still that of ancient Modena with part of the walls and medieval gates.

This book recalls that glorious history through the images taken by “photoreporters” of Modena such as Testi, Orlandini and Bandieri that fixed the two editions of the crowded Record of Mile (1909-1910), the Criterium of Regularity of 1911 and the many editions of the Modena Automobile Circuit, inaugurated in 1927 with the victory of Enzo Ferrari on Alfa Romeo and tragically ended in 1947 with a death in the opening of the 20th century.

The Modena Grand Prix conclude the journey at the dawn of motoring. Softback in very good condition.
