Description
France in the twenties …… those wonderful years when, with creative genius unsurpassed in modern times, the workshops and factories of Paris and indeed throughout the land were the scene of industry that would make France the greatest motoring nation on earth. The era passed and only nostalgic memory can perhaps recall some of the 350 different makes of motor car, many of which were of great technical interest and virtually unknown in England.
Now for the first time the successes and the failures of the era are faithfully recorded by the pen of John Bolster in his latest book.
A large section of this work is compiled as a directory of over 300 marques, supplying their backgrounds and technical details in narrative form. Tabulated data is also detailed where necessary. Other chapters deal with the progress of the era and the reasons for the rise and fall of famous names.
Technical drawings provide a wealth of detail of cars and component parts and a large number of photographs, many of which are contemporary, add to the truly vintage flavour of this book.
Extensive knowledge of the author in this subject shines through.
