Rileys are best remembered for the many versions of the advanced 9hp from the late twenties to mid thirties, as out and out racers, sports cars and sporting saloons, the larger engines being the basis of the ERA racing car that was so competitive in voiturette (F2) racing in the late thirties and is still so today in Historic Racing.
