In this publication Ray Roberts covers by way of a register style format, cars which are both special by design /re-engineering / remodelling such as The Barnato Hassan Special, Napier Bentley, the Bob Burrell Derby built special and various Mk6 Specials by the likes of Harry Rose, Derry Mallalieu, to cars which for historical reasons are ‘special’ such as The Birkin Blowers and the Embiricos Bentley.

Covering WO, Derby and Crewe built cars, the book gives an interesting insight into these special cars. Brief specification details of standard models are given, while a later chapter in the book gives guidelines on specifications of cars intended for club racing.

Later topics covered in the book are: racing – circuits, hill climbs, sprints and records – including those achieved at the Millbrook proving ground in the late 1980s, collectables and miscellany such as mascots and badges, badge colours, experimental cars, models and children’s pedal cars, dashboards layouts, humour accident, and incident.

Hardback in very good condition throughout. Clean and unnmarked inside with clean grey boards and silver gilt titles on spine. Very slight scuffing to bottom of spine. Dust wrapper clean and bright, some very minor scuff to top of spine, otherwise in good condition.
