Description
A History of Car Styling and Craftsmanship. From the days of the Coachbuilders Craft, before the advent of the Motor Car when Horse Drawn was the only practical Option, it took some time before the Motor Car lost its ‘Horseless Carriage’ nickname & Charactaristics to develop its own identity.
But soon practicality gave way to custom built style as the Styling & Body Designers worked separately from the Motor & Chassis Manufacturers but complimented each other well with the finished product.
Through the twenties & thirties, Art Deco put in an appearance on many of the Fine Cars from Europe & America, but alas it was all to change for good, with the wave of Mass Production & the off the peg, chassisless cars built completely as a single unit.
Hardback in generally very good condition for age, with good dust jacket, some minor grubby marks to white cover inevitably.
