Description

No man in the whole American motor car saga made so much, so single handedly, from so little, with such spectacular splash, as the imagina-tive, brash Mr. Cord, whose youthful energies first attracted broad attention in the automobile world when he revived the moribund Auburn Automobile Company from virtual collapse before he turned thirty.

In the breadth of a single decade Cord grew from a car-crazy youth, to become one of the most innovative manufacturers. To the promotional scene he brought a keenly honed commercial sense, demonstrated esthetic acuity, and an all-knowing hand. Cord was Mr. Able, a coldly practical man in great motion.

A remarkable proclivity for foresight enabled him to make the most of everything he touched. His public premise: the purchase of an automobile is an investment in machinery to manufacture transportation, and “no salesman can ‘talk’ quality into a car that has not had quality built into it.”

Hardback in generally good condition. Dust jacket cleand and bright on front, small tear top right, some scuffing to spine – rear is white and a little marked inevitably.
