Description

Autobiography of the famous automobile racing driver. In addition to Caracciola, Rosemeyer and Stuck, Brauchitsch was a very successful racing driver on Mercedes Benz Silver Arrow racing car in the 30s.

His career began on a Mercedes Benz SSK in 1929. From 1934 at the Mercedes Benz racing team. His main successes: Victory 1934 at the Nürburgring on the new Mercedes W25, 1937 Grand Prix victory in Monaco and in 1938 in France.

He drove his last race one day after the start of the war on 02.09.1939 at the Grand Prix in Belgrade. After the war some starts on AFM / BMW racing car (Alex von Falkenhausen).

He died on 5 February 2003 at the age of 97 at his residence in Gräfenwarth in Thuringia. German text.
