Not a car book but……………………produced for the Launch of No 534 (Later named Queen Mary) on Wednesday September 26th 1934 at Clydebank in the presence of Their Majesties The King & Queen.
This very rare publication was produced prior to the name “Queen Mary” being announced as the name of the ship and refers to the ship merely as No 534. (Not to be confused with later ‘souvenir’ brochures with Queen Mary on front produced in greater numbers. This fabulously illustrated large brochure from 1934 is in very good condition with large pullout illustrations of this magnificent vessel in various stages of construction along with various biographies.
Features tipped in photographs of the King and Queen plus senior John Brown heads 4 more elegant photographs of no 534 ( Queen Mary) underconstruction plus a foldi g drawing of same by the eminent marine painter Frank H Mason.
Soft covers have colour inlys and embodsing and are tied with blue cord. There is some minor foxing to right hand side of front and back cover but otherwise clean with very few marks or scuffs. Other than some minor spotting to page edge the inside is in excellent condition, tightly bound and with all tipped in pictures fully intact. A really good example of a very rare publication.
