Description

This is one of the earliest dedicated die-cast collector periodicals produced in Britain, which makes it historically important within the hobby. Appears to have been produced by Anstey Models Ltd with the editor likely to be Charles Gilbert, founder of Anstey and one of the pioneering figures in model-car collecting and dealing in Britain. The editor identifies four collecting areas:

  • Die-cast collecting
  • Construction from kits
  • Scratch-building
  • Toy collecting (especially tinplate)

That broad scope explains why the contents include Japanese models, American developments, books, and specialist manufacturers.

This appears to be a short run magazine pre-internet but aimed at a world wide subscription based audience.

Original first eight issues in generally very good condition for age, some minor scuffing and slight rusting to staples in places. Contained in a Hardboard box , blue with white titles in excellent condition.

Rare and historically significant series recording the very early days of the hobby.
