Emil Jellinek was introduced to his first 6hp Daimler. In the following year he ordered no less than 140 various models. Soon he was the sole agent for Daimler outside Germany. In fact he gave his daughter’s name to all the cars be bought for resale from Daimler, thus establishing the world-renowned car which carries the three pointed star, Mercedes. He was quick to see the value of motor racing, and entered Mercedes in the great classic car races of those early days.
