Description

Published (belatedly) as a tribute to the memory of Parry Thomas on the centenary of his birth. “Parry Thomas is best remembered nowadays because of the tragic and bizarre circumstances surrounding his death on Pendine Sands in March 1927, and the burial, and subsequent resurrection in 1969 of his giant aero-engined car, ‘Babs’.

This hardly does credit to the man, who was without doubt, the most popular and successful racing driver of his day. Whilst this is how most people remember Thomas, there are many who are of the opinion that he wasted his talents, and eventually his life, by motor racing, and who consider him to be one of the most original motor vehicle designers of the century.

Softback in generally very good condition.
