The book is much more than a history of motor racing. It’s an account of a life spent in the service of motor racing, of almost overwhelming difficulties overcome and of the fulfilment of an ambition to produce a racing car which could uphold the prestige of his beloved country, first the ERA and then the BRM.

1952 reprint of 1951 first edition. Hardback in generally good condition, very clean and tidy inside. Blue boards reasonably clean, slight scuffs to spine edges and corners, slight sunning to spine. Rare dust jacket is a little grubby with scuffs and tears to edges, plus one or two small losses vbut otherwise intact.
