Description

The book covers the struggles of early motor racing through which emerged some great cars & great drivers that are now legend.

The period covered takes you from the very start of the sport up to ‘State of the Art’ 1914. Recounts the town-to-town races that were eventually superseded , with much loss of life in 1903 by the more controllable races round a circuit of closed roads, like the Gordon Bennett and early Grand Prix in Europe and Grand Prize and the Vanderbilt cup races in the US plus the rugged, Targa Florio.

Hardback in excellent condition for age, some very light foxing in places but otherwise clean with a very good, clean dust jacket.
