Description

Henry Segrave was a pioneer in land speed and water speed records. He was the first person to hold both land speed and water speed records, and the first to travel at over two hundred miles per hour in a land vehicle.

In this work, originally published two years before his accidental death in the Lake District, Segrave retraces his career as world’s champion racing motorist from 1922 to 1927, with chapters dedicated to racing, the Grand Prix, his arrival in America, and sharing some observations.

Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of the author and other plates of photographs. This the 1932 ‘first cheap’ edition of 1928 original.

Book is in good condition, with very good green boards, clean black lettering to spine. Very little marking or bumping. Insdie some foxing to early pages and to page edges in general, otherwise very clean and readable. Nice example. No dust jacket.
