Description
Dennis is one of the oldest and most respected names in British vehicle engineering. It started in Guildford in 1895 as a builder of bicycles but quickly moved on to motor vehicles — cars, buses, trucks, fire engines and even lawn-mowers.
Throughout its long history it has been an innovator. In the early part of this century it pioneered the worm-drive axle, which greatly improved the performance of its cars. More recently it has led the midibus revolution in Britain — and exported the concept to other markets too.
This volume tells in words and pictures the story of 100 years of innovation by a company which is a major player in the British bus and fire appliance markets — and a significant exporter to countries around the globe.
