The Mercedes-Benz company has been making motoring history and outstanding contributions in the fields of engineering, design, sports racing and politics since 1886.

Such longevity has given rise to more facts, events and details than any individual could hope to remember. This book contains everything you would want to know about the changing history of the company and its glittering contribution to motor sports.

Illustrated with photographs and detailed descriptions of production models and racing prototypes from 1886 through 1998.

This is the updated version of the 1997 two-volume publication of the same name. Hartmut Lehbrink?s studies of English and German philology took him to Geneva, Münster, and Bonn. He has written numerous contributions for periodical publications including Auto, Motor und Sport and ADAC-Motorwelt.

Rainer W. Schlegelmilch studied photography in Munich and in 1964 opened a studio for advertising photography. During his studies, visits to car races led him to discover his passion for motor sports and fast cars.

Hardback in almost mint condition.
